FT2232HL development board to iceprog adaper
FT2232HL-development-board-adapters
A tiny adapter that lets an FT2232HL development board program an iCE40 FPGA. It maps the FTDI's ADBUS SPI pins to the iceprog header, so a generic USB board works as an iCE40 programmer.
What's on it
- A 19-pin header to the FT2232HL board.
- A 2x5 iceprog header (J1).
- A jumper (JP1).
- The ADBUS SPI and control lines wired across.
The link
The FT2232HL runs in MPSSE mode, clocking out SCK, MOSI and CS to the FPGA while reading MISO back. CRESET and CDONE let iceprog reset the iCE40 and check the config-done flag. The adapter just wires these pins between the two headers. iceprog expects MPSSE, so the board is basically a pin-map.
