Fusebit Doctor TQFP32 adapter

Fusebit-Doctor-TQFP32-adapter

A TQFP-32 breakout that lets a Fusebit Doctor programmer rescue AVR chips with bricked fuses. Drop an ATmega48-class part on the footprint and the programmer can erase and reprogram it.

What's on it

  • A TQFP-32 footprint (ATmega48-20A compatible).
  • A Fusebit Doctor breakout header (J1).
  • All 32 pins wired to the programmer's data, 5V, 12V and control lines.

The rescue

The programmer applies 12V to enter high-voltage parallel programming, then erases the fuses over the DATA lines. The adapter routes every TQFP-32 pin, including RESET and the 12V pin, to the right header position. I use the parallel path because a bricked AVR often has no working SPI left.
