iCE40HX8K-EVB-EXT2PMOD-adapter

An adapter that turns one iCE40HX8K-EVB EXT connector into four PMOD ports. Plug it onto the 40-pin 1.27mm header and you can hang standard PMOD modules off the Lattice FPGA board.

What's on it

• Four 2x6 PMOD connectors (J2-J5).
• A 40-pin 1.27mm header (J1) to the EXT socket.
• An AMS1117-3.3 regulator.
• A blue LED.
• Test points for 5V and 3.3V.

The path

The EXT header carries the FPGA's IO and 5V in. An AMS1117-3.3 drops the 5V to 3.3V for the PMOD power pins, while each socket's eight signal lines route straight back to the EXT connector and on to specific FPGA pins. It is mostly a wiring diagram on a board; the AMS1117 is the only active part.
